Untours Cafe

I don't know how many parts this series will have, but I have been in Austria visiting the Salzburg-area Untour since Wednesday.

I wasn't able to find an internet cafe in Werfen where I'm staying, so I'm updating from a place in Salzburg. It was a glorious day today to walk around the city... it's definitely autumn now -- the leaves are changing, the weather is cooler, and the hordes of tourists are gone! It's pretty cool at night, but in the sun during the day it's just perfect.

Hopefully I'll be able to upload more pictures, but for now, you'll have to make do with the ones I was able to burn onto CD at a bar (of all places) in Hallstatt, which is the Untours-organized trip the day after orientation. It's a beautiful place, but none of the photos are on CD -- they're still on my camera!

So the few I've uploaded... they're really just photographs from Thursday.

That's it for now folks... catch you in a few days hopefully!

I'm enjoying your pictures so much. Austria was our first Untour and Kuchl was our hometown. We loved it there but that was long before we had our digital camera so I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your photos. Halstatt was a favorite of ours. We got there early one morning and rented a pedal boat - seeing the town from the water is the best!

I see you're putting that new camera to good use. Great pictures!

Hope you're having fun in Austria and it's a little warmer there than it is here! Sorry I didn't see this earlier but I remember two of my favorite things about Salzburg that I wanted to share, and they are both food-related! 1). The BEST pastry shop-cafe ever is FINGERLOS on Franz-Josef Strasse 9, about 2 blocks from the Mirabell Castle. 2) a great little cafe called Pasta e Vino, run by an Italian Family selling, yes, Pasta and Wine. It's a shop but you can sit at one of the few tables and order from a small menu, all the pasta is homemade and is the reason the place is always full! Wolf Dietrich Strasse 31.

Hope someone can make it to one or both of these places!
