The Breakfast Wagon at Colter Bay Corral

Once at the breakfast site, we sipped cowboy coffee and orange juice while waiting for the horseback riders to arrive.  Meanwhile I inspected the food being prepared and said hello to Bridget, the cook.  Besides the coffee, hot chocolate, tea and orange juice, breakfast included fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, pancakes, potatoes and fried whistle pig, "which looks and tastes like ham."…

The Grizzly Bear Incident

"The Grizzly Bear Incident"  It was July 19, 2012, our last day in Grand Teton National Park.  We had reservations for the Breakfast Wagon Ride through the scenic Willow Flats area.  We got there early because road construction between Jackson Lake Lodge and Colter Bay Corral didn't delay us as much as expected.  We were to take a 45 minute ride to the breakfast site on a wagon drawn by Daisy and Diva.  There were to be just three of us on the wagon (besides our driver, Perrin), followed by…
