We spent 2 weeks in Paris this past June. It was awesome. It's a great place to do an Untour. Nice apartments available and the freedom to see what you want at your leisure.
I just wanted to add a little bit about Paris and was not sure you would be still reading all the many comments on your blog.
Frank and I went in June 2007. (We're in our 60s). It really wasn't hot. I found it more like our weather in Northern CA. We did have a rain shower almost each day but we carried our little travel umbrellas with us in our packs. I've been following Paris' weather now for a year and that seems to be the normal there. I do know that a couple years ago France had a terriblly hot summer, but was told that was unusual by our French friends.
We found Paris easy to get around and there is so much to choose from in "sightseeing" or just plain people watching while sitting for a rest at an outdoor cafe eating a crepe. We found that if we stayed away from cetain areas of town (just like any other big city) we felt safe and comfortable.
I have a bad back and walk with a cane when I have to walk while sightseeing on trips. I had no problem getting around Paris since most streets are fairly flat. You should do fantastic!!
Although I still haven't had a chance to edit more of photos, I have some in my Paris album on My Page.
Also...read my blog about Using My Digital Camera as a Triplog....it was written using a day in Paris as an example.
If you have any questions about Paris.....what to do and see, Museum Pass info, getting around etc, feel free to ask me. Bil and El Kover keep coming up with questions for me too. I really don't mind.
I'll send you a friend request to make it easier to email me.
Happy Paris planning!!!
