Rome With Kids

My family has decided that our next Untour would probably be a Sicily East and Rome sampler. My main concern is Rome. I have never been to Rome and have heard that it is sometimes difficult to navigate the public transportation system. I will be traveling with my wife and two kids aged 11 and 14 and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me in regard to Rome or Sicily East. We are fairly experienced at public transportation having navigated Chicago, New York City, and Switzerland but Rome is a…See More

Koln (Cologne) Accommodations

I am traveling to Germany this summer and was wondering if any of you can recommend a place to stay in Koln? Also, have any of you traveled via train from Basel, Switzerland to Koln. If so, any advice? Happy Travels!

Bill Kover

Isn't it wonderful to be able to travel through Bill's eyes! His enthusiasm for travel makes me so happy. I am able to "see" France vicariously, and since I will not be traveling there, this really is nice. Thanks Bill. Happy Travels!

Hosting an Exchange Student

There are many common threads which seem to connect us as "Untourists". Our love of travel and discovering new and exciting culture as well as the bonds we make with fellow travelers, Untours staff, and the wonderful people in the countries we visit. It also seems as though we are appreciative of the many opportunities afforded us through travel. Whether it be the outpouring of love to hosts who have left us, respect and admiration of… Continue

Hi Tom,
Venice is the next place for you to go. I've a bunch (50) of photos on this site, and most are of Venice and its surroundings. I also have a blog about my travels in and around Venice: www.lynanneg.blogspot.com that you may be interested in. Lynanne

Thanks Tom - it's hard to make a bad photo in Switzerland. We're already considering a revisit - which is unusual for us.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the info. I know it will be of help and look forward to trying the hikes you recommend though we are both 70 and the strenuous hikes are out but the easy and maybe the moderate would also work. Also, if you have some favorite moderate priced restaurants in the area let us know and what you enjoyed in the cities in terms of museums, historic sites. Thanks again. marion and bill
