I have T-Mobile and International Service (both for use here in the States and for use when abroad) is free. I've used my phone in Mexico, Italy, Holland, England, France and Spain, and have had perfect reception each time. And, from each of those locations the calls are $.99 per minutes. It's a bit costly if you have a real "talker" on the other end, but if you're using it solely to check in and touch base and not conduct business, it's a great way to go, since you're already familiar with your own phone and its functions. We did the NorthTuscany program 10/7-21/2007 and were bothered by the smoke of burning grapevines. We're considering doing South Tuscany and Umbria this coming fall, but could probably visit earlier if anyone can give us an idea when they're likely to finish with the grape harvest and start the burning. Thanks.

My wife and I are considering Umbria for Spring of 2010. Has anyone stayed at either Il Fienile or Ettore Lower/Upper in Spoleto? Specifically - is Il Fienile too small? Does Ettore Lower have a courtyard (we like to eat breakfast as fresco)? Or any other comments, like are there better apartment choices?
