I think the granita near the opera house is wort going to Palermo in and of itself. You can't even find it in New York.

The racial and cultural diversity of Palermo is part of its attraction. stroll down Abraham Lincoln Avenue. Posh it's not, but there are furniture factories, a great maccheroni store, scores of Asian-owned businesses and it ends north at the Foro Italico at the Botanical Garden. has anyone seen the memorial plaque in Garibaldi Park.? Sicilia, ti amo.

I once drove from Palermo through Enna to Siracusa. It was awesome. On the way back to Palermo we stopped in Cefalu, a great beach town. Hotels and restaurants abound. Enna was a sight! Almost as nice as Erice, it is the navel of Sicily. And siricusa is eerily beautiful if you stand on the elevated promenade overlooking the sea.
