I love Paris anytime of the year!!! What a beautiful city and so much fun! Check out my slideshow of Paris in My Albums. Also, check out my blog "Digital Photography As A Trip Journal" for a glimpse into a day in Paris with us.

Hi everyone -( at the urging of fellow untours members, I'm posting this question in the Paris cafe. )

I'm thinking seriously of travelling with my 2 daughters to Paris next year, in April, and want to go the Untours route. I haven't really followed through with my initial planning/research until now. What's the best way to start? I've studied France/Paris for years, know the basic layout and what I want to do, and even speak a bit of French. I'd like to just go and soak up the atmosphere/museums/ boulangeries/people - but want to make sure my girls enjoy it too, without getting bogged down in expensive shopping sprees. What would two girls - ages 17 and 13 - enjoy in Paris most?

Belated Happy (?) Bastille Day! Since most of us are not in Paris, I was curious if any one else's hometown has a Bastille Day celebration. We have at least big ones in Philadelphia, the larger of which includes a part where the audience helps "re-enact" a storming of the Bastille, using the city's hallowed (and maybe haunted) Eastern State Penitentiary. Even here in our small town of Media, a block or two was closed off for a concert plus other activities. Anyone else's town have similar festivities?

Has anyone traveled to Paris with a person who has PKU (phenylketoneuria)? Anyone familiar with PKU knows about the extremely restricted diet and I'd like to know if there are any stores that sell the special low and protein free foods required? I'll be traveling with my 12 year old granddaughter and one of the reasons I chose Untours is the ability to stay in an apartment where we can prepare some of our meals and have more control over her diet. Are there any other travelers out there who have had to deal with this rare condition?

My fiance Mimi and I are leaving soon for two weeks in the Galande apartment! We have been doing a lot of walking in prep for the 51 steps up to the place. We've been studying various maps and references to plan our time there. What days of the week is the street market on St. Germain? Oh well, we'll find one. Should we spend our time visiting museums or try to become Parisiens?

Hello. I'm visiting Paris in late October. Can anyone tell me what they think the weather will really be like?

Last year we were there in the middle of Sept. It was very comfortable, some days sunny, but mostly overcast. I wore a sweater most days, but that was all I needed. However, late Oct. might be cooler.

I think Ive been to Paris a few time in the fall and it all depends on luck what sort of weather you get towards the end of October. Beautiful crisp autumn days or wind and rain. I always brings layers and a good lightweight rain jacket just in case. I prefer 4-5 layers to a heavy coat, quick drying fabric to jeans, comfie shoes that also dry fast if need be (fabric rather than leather). There's no bad weather, only bad clothing choices!
