Having grown up in North Jersey, I've made many day trips to NYC but the idea of having a week to see Manhattan as the natives live it will be a whole new experience. I've seen many of the apartments we're offering and we have a location for everyone!

I had the pleasure of spending time last month in New York, checking out our new apartments and exploring the various neighborhoods of this diverse city. Of all the traveling I’ve done, nothing is like New York! Imagine living like a local in a carefully selected apartment in so many interesting neighborhoods. We had a terrific time getting to know this incredible city with one of our staff people, Linda who is a native New Yorker. Even though I’ve been to New York numerous times over the years it was always a little intimidating, but Linda taught us so much and helped us maneuver the city. Can’t wait to go back!

Fabulously artistic slide show! Maybe some of you have heard of or used Context Travel expert guided walks in some of our European cities. Well they now have 2 walks in Manhattan. One in Central Park on the design and history led by PhD NYC historians. The other, covers the history of Ethnic Food in NYC led by a food historian. I have taken walks in Rome and Florence and find the docents to be extrememly knowledgeable and happy to be imparting their expertise to their group! www.contexttravel.com

My family and I had a wonderful time in New York City! Linda was a tremendous local expert who made the subway unintimidating for us. She also suggested some great places to visit near our apartment that we would have neglected otherwise (namely Carl Schurz Park and Gracie Mansion). Our host Liza was welcoming and kind. This was our first untour and it will not be our last.
