Untours Cafe

We want to visit Chamonix after 2 weeks in Paris, and I think that rail is the easiest way to get there. Coming back to the US I'd like to travel non-stop, if reasonable.  In the opinion of any of you who've done it, are we better off taking a bus from Chamonix to the Geneva airport and then flying home with a stop in France (probably Paris airport); or should we take the train back to Paris and fly home non-stop from Charles de Gaulle airport?  Comments welcome.  Thank you all in advance.
